FAQ
Pozi – Frequently Asked Questions
General
What is Pozi?
Pozi is a web-based Geographic Information System (GIS) designed specifically for local government. It allows organisations to view, share, and interact with spatial data through a simple web browser, without the cost or complexity of traditional GIS software. Pozi is designed to centralise meaningful information into a single point of truth as well as integrate into business critical systems such as Enterprise Rating and Property (ERP), Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS), Enterprise Asset Management (EAM).
Who is Pozi designed for?
Pozi is built for councils and public sector organisations. It is used by planners, engineers, asset teams, customer service staff, executives, and field crews to access and understand spatial data across the organisation.
What are the main benefits of using Pozi?
Key benefits include: Easy access to live spatial data across the organisation No GIS software installation required Reduced reliance on specialist GIS staff for day-to-day map access Improved decision-making using location-based information Lower total cost compared to traditional GIS deployments
Is Pozi suitable for non-technical users?
Yes. Pozi is designed for everyday users across the council, not just GIS professionals. The interface is simple and intuitive, making it easy for non-technical staff to view maps, search data, and make informed decisions.
Is Pozi an Australian product?
Yes. Pozi is Australian-owned, developed, and supported. All support is provided locally by Australian GIS professionals who understand the needs of local government.
Technical
What types of data can be viewed in Pozi?
Pozi can display a wide range of spatial data including property, roads, boundaries, assets, infrastructure, planning layers, utilities, and environmental data. It supports common GIS formats used by councils including raster data such as aerial imagery.
Can Pozi integrate with our existing GIS data?
Yes. Pozi connects to your existing spatial datasets and GIS environment. It does not replace your core GIS. Instead, it makes your existing data accessible across the organisation.
Can Pozi be used on mobile devices?
Yes. Pozi works on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices through a web browser. This means staff can access live maps in the office, onsite, or in the field.
Can Pozi be used in the field?
Yes — Pozi can be used anywhere you have an internet connection. Staff in the field can view mapping layers and see exactly where they are in relation to your data. Need to collect data offline? We also offer an Australian-hosted Mergin Maps solution.
Is Pozi secure?
Yes. Pozi follows industry-standard security practices. User access is controlled through secure logins and role-based permissions to ensure sensitive data is protected.
Is Pozi powered by QGIS?
Yes. Pozi is powered by QGIS, the world’s leading open-source GIS platform. This ensures strong spatial capability while allowing organisations to benefit from open standards and an open ecosystem.
Do I need GIS software installed to use Pozi?
Pozi itself is web-based, so everyday users access it through a standard web browser and do not need GIS software installed. However, QGIS is used on the backend to manage, configure and publish spatial data to Pozi.
Can different users have different access levels?
Yes. Administrators can control who can view, edit, or manage maps and data. This ensures staff only see the information relevant to their role.
Implementation
How quickly can Pozi be implemented?
Pozi can typically be implemented quickly because it connects to existing GIS data and is browser-based. Many organisations are up and running within weeks, not months.
Can Pozi integrate with asset management systems?
Yes. Pozi can integrate with asset management platforms such as Metrix Assets, allowing spatial data and asset data to be viewed together in one place.
Is training required to use Pozi?
Formal GIS training is not required for everyday users. Most staff can begin using Pozi with minimal guidance. Administrator and advanced user training is available if required. Ongoing support is also provided through the Pozi Circle Community and comprehensive online help documentation, giving your team access to practical guidance whenever they need it.
Can Pozi be customised for our council?
Yes. Pozi can be configured to reflect your branding, datasets, workflows, and user groups. Map layers, tools, and access settings are all configurable.
How is Pozi priced?
Pozi is offered as a subscription-based service. Pricing depends on factors such as the size of the organisation, number of users, and data requirements. A tailored quote is provided based on your needs.
Support
What support is available for Pozi users?
Australian-based technical support is provided by Pozi’s local team. Support includes helpdesk assistance, online documentation, and optional training services.
How do we get started with Pozi?
You can request a demonstration or speak with the Pozi team to discuss your requirements. From there, a tailored deployment plan and implementation pathway will be provided.
