Info Panel

Info Panel

When you click on any feature of location on the map, Pozi reveals the Info Panel which provides information about the feature or location.

The two modes of information displayed in the Info Panel are:

  • What’s Here: provides information about a variety of datasets that are relevant to a location you have clicked on or searched for
  • Feature details: provides information about an individual feature you have selected, either from the map or from the What’s Here results

What’s Here

When enquiring on a location via clicking on the map or doing a search, Pozi displays information from a variety of data sources that are relevant to the location. This enquiry mode is called What’s Here.

What’s Here selections are triggered by any of the following events:

  • clicking a location on the map
  • using the Search tool to search for an address or coordinates
  • opening Pozi using a link that includes a target location

Advanced selections

To perform a more complex selection, such as selecting features that are within a specific region, use the Select tool in the Tools tab.

Clicking on the map or doing a search creates a target location, which Pozi to identify features from a number of data sources that intersect the target location. The details of these features are then displayed in the What’s Here results.

Street View

The What’s Here results typically displays a Street View image of the location (if there is one available at that location). Click on the image to interactively explore the location using Street View in a new tab.

Feature Lists

The What’s Here results typically show a list of features at the chosen location, with the title of each feature. Click on the title to view the feature’s details (covered below).

Details

Pozi displays the feature’s attributes when you either:

  • click the title of any feature in the What’s Here results (where there is a right arrow)
  • click directly on a vector feature on the map
  • search for a feature using the Search tool

Information includes:

  • title
  • attributes
  • clickable links
  • image previews

Child Datasets

Pozi can display information not only about selected features, but also any related information from related datasets.

Pozi uses parent-child relationships between datasets to enable you to access information from separate datasets.

Examples:

  • Property: owner details, building and planning permits, animal registrations, associated land parcels, intersecting planning zones and overlays
  • Assets: inspection and maintenance events
  • Wards: councillors and contact details

You can access this related information by selecting the parent feature from the map or from the What’s Here results.

Options

In addition to viewing information about the selected feature, Pozi enables you to perform additional actions based on the selection.

What’s within this

Identify features from other layers that are within or intersect the selected feature.

Pick the ‘What’s within this’ from the selected feature’s options menu.

How does this work?

When you pick ‘What’s within this’ from the options menu, Pozi turns your selected feature into a new target for a new What’s Here enquiry.

The updated What’s Here results display all features that intersect or are within the selected feature.

What’s around this

Identify features from other layers that are within a specified distance of the selected feature.

Pick the ‘What’s around this’ from the selected feature’s options menu.

The map will display a dashed line marking the enquiry area (buffer around the selected feature) and display the intersecting features in the What’s Here results.

Note

You can specify a small negative buffer value (eg -1m) to restrict the enquiry area to just inside the selected feature and to avoid including adjacent features in the results.

Viewing and Exporting Results

The results of a multi-selection can be viewed as a table and downloaded. An options button (three stacked dots) is shown at the top of each result set. Click the dots to view the selected features in a table view.

Then use the table’s download button to download the results in CSV format.

If a layer has any child datasets, you’ll also see menu options to view those results as a table too. This enables you to bulk select properties on the map to view/download any linked information such as property owner details, animal registrations, planning permits, etc. Similarly, you can bulk select asset features on the map to view all related inspection or maintenance events for those assets. Any child dataset that has been configured for the active layer will be available to view and download in this menu.

Location / Dimensions

The Location/Dimensions pane appears towards the bottom of the Info Panel results.

Location

The location coordinates of the selected feature or target.

If the feature or target is a region or line, the coordinate values are of the centroid of the feature or target.

Use the dropdown menu to view the coordinates in a different coordinate reference system.

Dimensions

When a feature or target is a region or line, the approximate dimensions of the selected feature are displayed.

  • region: area and perimeter
  • line: length

All dimensions are approximate and may not be exact. Due to the limitations of various data capture methods and web map software, the dimensions should not be used as exact measurements.

About

When the Info Panel displays information about an individual feature (ie, not a What’s Here target), the About pane displays any available metadata about the feature’s source dataset. This information can include the dataset’s title, description, capture date, contact details and other metadata.
