Map
Pozi’s map view gives you a quick and easy way to interact with your data.
Navigation
If you’ve used Google Maps before, Pozi’s navigation will be familiar to you. Pozi also has some extra tricks up its sleeve to make navigation easier.
Pan
Click and hold down the left-mouse button, and drag the map to your desired location.
Zoom
You can zoom the map using any of the following methods.
Incremental zooming
To zoom in and out within your map view:
- position your cursor in the map on the location of interest and use your mouse scroll wheel, or
- click the
+and-buttons on right side of the map
Fine-grained zoom
You can zoom quickly to a feature instead of stepping through individual zoom levels, or if you want to fill a map precisely with an area of interest, use Shift-click zoom.
- hold down the
Shiftkey on your keyboard - click and drag the cursor to create a box around your area of interest
- release the cursor
The map will zoom to the area defined by the box.
Pinch-to-zoom
On touch devices and laptop trackpads, use a pinch motion with two fingers to zoom the map.
Imagery
If your Pozi site has any aerial or satellite imagery layers, you can easily toggle on and off the site’s default imagery layer using the “Imagery” button at the top-right side of the map.

GPS
Pinpoint
Pozi’s GPS function centres the map at your current location.
If you are on a mobile device, the app will use your device’s in-built GPS to zoom the map to your current location.
Click the GPS button (target icon) at the right side of the map. The browser will prompt you with a request for your permission to allow Pozi to access your location. Accept the request to enable the browser to use the GPS function.
Pozi will zoom the map to the location given by the browser’s location service and make a selection on the map. You may click the GPS button again at any time to obtain an updated position.
Accuracy
If you are outdoors with a clear view of the sky, the device’s GPS should be able to locate you on the map within a few metres.
If you are using a device without GPS capabilities or you are indoors, the location will be less reliable. It may only locate the map to the nearest street, locality or city.
Follow
The GPS ‘follow’ function constantly updates and displays your location on the map as your position changes.
To activate the follow function, click on the GPS button. For several seconds afterwards, the Follow button will appear underneath the GPS button. Click the Follow button to active. The GPS button will flash to indicate that it is now tracking your location.
To stop following, click the GPS button. The button icon will stop flashing.
Battery usage
Please note that the follow function uses more battery power than normal operation. Be aware of your battery level if you plan to use it for extended periods of time.
Full Screen
Click the full screen button at the top right of the map to enable Pozi to fill the entire screen.
Press Esc to exit full screen mode.
