Measure

Pozi’s measuring tools enable you to obtain distance and area measurements by clicking on locations on the map.

How to use

To use the measuring tools, go to:

Menu > Tools > Measure

Then pick from the following options:

  • Length/Distance
  • Area/Region
  1. click “Length/Distance” or “Area/Region”
  2. click on the map at the location from which you want to measure
  3. click on the map at any intermediate locations
  4. double-click on the map at the end location

You can add multiple measurements to the map by redoing steps 2-4.

To finish measuring and return to the standard map interaction mode, click the “Finish” button.

To clear all measurements, click the “Clear all” button.

Options

Show segment lengths

Pozi displays the length measurement between each intermediate point by default.

If you do not need to see these segment lengths, untick this option.

Show total measurement

Pozi displays the total length/perimeter measurement by default.

If you do not need to see the total length, untick this option.

Snap to features

In measure mode, Pozi automatically positions the cursor precisely on top of any existing vector feature node when the cursor passes close to it. This behaviour is called “snapping”. It allows you to precisely measure distances and areas in relation to existing features.

If you don’t want the cursor to snap to existing features, untick this option. Even without snapping enabled, you can zoom the map closer to allow you to place the cursor on or around the desired location.
